Rails meetup tonight in Copenhagen

Published June 29th, 2006 edit replace rm!

Tonight there is a Rails meetup here in Copenhagen. I wasn’t sure if I was able to make it but I believe I have been able to cleverly manipulate my schedule enough to attend for some of that free beer tonight. Of course I am also looking forward to chatting to some of the cool Danish rails developers I met at Reboot 8.

My first functional test passed on my new Acts_as_capability plugin, which I may be able to demonstrate to anyone interested. This Rails plugin will allow you to write your own no user account encrypted rails applications. This is all extracted from WideWord and WideBlog in the hope that more people will create these kinds of applications. (It provides a wonderful no effort authentication method for DHH’s world of resources). More on this later. But ask me to rant over beers tonight if you please.

Rails and/or entrepreneurs in Panama and Argentina

Published June 8th, 2006 edit replace rm!

I will be in Panama in most of July and Argentina in most of August. I would like to meetup and get to know local rails geeks and/or web based entrepreneurial types.

Please write a comment below or send me a mail. Some of us have already talked about doing a Rails meetup or seminar in Panama. If we can organize a venue I think it would be fun.

Reboot 8 was great

I would like to say thanks to everyone I met at Reboot 8 this year. Both the speakers and the people I met there were fun, interesting and inspirational.

I won’t make this a big shout out to everyone because I’ve gotten to know a lot of interesting cool people there (including a bunch of Danish/Swedish rails geeks, yeah!).

Both Jesper and Chris put up overviews of the Rails meetup. Between them I don’t think they have missed anything. Olle*3 also has a great roundup of the conference.

For many of us who work outside the Silicon Valley area it is a breath of fresh air to get to hang around other open minded entrepreneurial spirits. This was probably the most important aspect for me.

Reboot starts today

Reboot is a great conference right here in Copenhagen. It looks like there will be lots of interesting people and talks.

I will be there of course and if you’re there please stop me and lets have a chat.

During the talks I will try to report what people are talking about on the Talk.org about Reboot pages. Please feel free to do the same, you can do so anonymously if you wish.

I was growing really tired of the theme for my blog, so I’ve changed it to the Scribbish theme which to me is fantasticly clean and simple.
